Vision:
The first website for Andi’s business; speaking directly to her dream clients through her unique style, personality, and experience
Obstacles:
Defining and distilling the Paper Moon brand into design…after another Squarespace designer didn’t get it right
Clients often come to me a tiny bit traumatized by a bad experience with another professional — a web designer, graphic designer, consultant, etc. They’re wary and worried. I get it; when we’ve had a disappointing experience with one pro, it’s hard to trust another.
But Andi knew she wanted to delegate to an expert so she could focus her time and energy on what she does best. Plus, she learned from her previous experience and knew what to look for and what to ask the Squarespace designer and writer she wanted to work with next...me!
Solutions:
Brand positioning, website writing, and custom Squarespace design
We started with Clarity Sessions that dug into Andi’s goals for her website, brand, and business. We knew we wanted to express the following through her written messaging:
Not just what Andi does for her clients, but why. Understanding her true passion, process, and personality helped us reveal the core of Paper Moon’s brand.
Defining Paper Moon’s positioning — planning love-fueled celebrations for SoCal couples who do things a little differently — so it speaks directly to and attracts her dream clients
Expressing Andi’s unique personality. Showing Andi’s prospects who she really is helps her style resonate with the right people — and her energy is a force to be reckoned with. She is somehow part tenacious and Type-A big sister, part gracious and all-knowing fairy godmother, and part best friend who will go to bat for her clients…with the motivational powers of a head cheerleader. Damn.
Andi and I also talked about what the previous designer didn’t get right, what felt off, where it fell apart, and why. It’s so important to get under the surface of simple pictures and colors; there is meaning to every design element. Only when we understood what Andi was envisioning and what it meant to her was I able to build the custom Squarespace site that truly fit her brand.
Success!
Bold and rich, elegant and modern, Andi’s new site brings the Paper Moon brand alive online. It’s bright, clear, focused, and creative – just like Andi.
